Less expectations and More gratitude

It happened again. I had built up expectations for my day and expectations of other people. When it didn’t go as I had planned, I felt disappointed. It’s so simple really – when reality is worse than our expectations we tend to feel frustrated. When reality is better than expected, we feel satisfied and pleased. Expecting nothing from others results in feeling grateful and happy for whatever comes our way. Less expectations doesn’t mean that we want less of an outcome, it just means that we accept the situation as it is and depend less on others to make ourselves happy.

Life is full of uncertainties. Finding a good way to deal with ambiguity is key to feeling content. With gratitude comes happiness, and with happiness comes gratitude.
